I protested loudly (to myself) a couple of weeks ago when I read Michael Pollan’s piece in the New York Times Magazine. In “Out of the Kitchen, Onto the Couch,” Pollan posits that the relatively recent glut of TV cooking shows is partially responsible for Americans spending less time in the kitchen. I disagree.
Chris Matthews interviewed Willian Kostric earlier this week, after Kostric appeared at a rally outside President Obama’s Portsmouth, New Hampshire town hall meeting, with a loaded gun strapped to his leg. There is some of Matthews’ typical haranguing of the guest, but also some good back-and-forth between the two men (who seem to exist at the two extreme ends of the political spectrum).
Now ex-Governor Sarah Palin gave her farewell speech to her beloved media yesterday before skipping out on her commitment to the state of Alaska. Conan O’Brien’s special guest William Shatner finds a unique poetic merit to her words.
