Dearest Mary

Well Darling just a few more lines to let you know that I am still alive.  I am thinking of you a lot.  I am sorry Darling that I can not get up there to be [with] you my dearest on Christmas but I will be there a few days after if nothing happens.  If I am not there Darling I will be looking all over England for a place for Mrs. Cole to live.

I received two letters from you yesterday but Darling I missed out on letters today.  I received a letter from Kenney today and he wanted to know how we were getting along.  He also sent me some Jap money.  I will let you see it when I come up.

Darling I have received every letter you wrote up to the 14th of this month.  So far Dearest I have only missed one day writing to you since I have been here, and Darling I will do my best to write every day.  I know what your letters mean to me.  Your letters only take six or seven days to get here.

Mary Dearest every thing I have told you so far has been the truth.  I haven’t been out of this place since I got here, and not even a day off so far Darling.  I only wish that you were here for I do need you an awful lot for you are the only one in this world that means so much to me.  Darling I would give any thing to have you here with me when I get my three day pass, so I could be with you all the time.

Darling you could not be punished for any thing.  There is nothing in this world that you do that is wrong, and I love you so much, and Mary dearest please don’t do like you said for I want your hair just as it is for I think it is beautiful.

Mary tell Jimmy to have his train running good when I get there.  I might have some sweets for him when I see him, and listen dopey, you are not to take it away from him like you used to.  Do you remember?

Well Darling I will have to close now.  Answer soon.

Your Loving husband
Harry

Dear Mary Darling,

Well here is another one my little letters again, Darling, just to let you know that I am thinking about you all the time, even when I am asleep.  I am getting along here so far but I will feel a lot better when I get a place down here for you to stay, and I sure hope that is soon.

Oh Mary Darling, I sure hope and pray that nothing happens to keep me away from you on Christmas.  If nothing happens, I will be there on the first train that comes in to Dundee from this direction.  Dearest, I can hardly wait till I can hold you in my arms and feel your sweet lips pressing on mine.  Darling, when I fall asleep at night, I dream of you and when I wake up and find that you are not there, well I can not explain just how I feel but I think you know.

A couple of the fellows left here today and poss. and they were coming up that way.  Let me know if you see them.

Well Darling, I have rested up since I walked to camp so if you see something coming up the street sometime like superman that will be your husband so don’t be surprised.

Darling, if you don’t like to go out with Betty, please don’t go just because I told you to.  I only thought Darling, that it would help pass the time quicker till I could be with you.

Listen Dopey, if you do like you said, the fellow better have a strong neck for I will wring it for sure, but I am not worrying Dearest, for I know that you will not do that, and you won’t have to worry for you are the only girl that ever meant any thing to me and the only one I ever will go with or even talk to.

Mary Dearest, I am going to have to close this for now.  It is almost twelve o’clock at night and I have to go to work early.  I want to go to sleep and dream of my adorable wife.

Answer as soon as you can, darling.

Your Loving husband for always
Harry

Dearest Mary:

Just a few more lines to let you know that I love you more and more all the time.  I am well and I sure hope that you are the same.  Darling, I sure hope that you were here with me now.  I was dreaming about you last night and now I miss you more than ever.  I don’t know if we will be allowed to travel over Christmas and New Years but if we are I will be up there with you for one day, and if we are not I sure will be out hunting a place for you to stay.

I was sure disappointed today.  I was looking for a letter from you and none came.  I did receive two from home and one from my cousins.

We,, Dopey, have you been talking in your sleep any more?  If you have, you had better quit till you get here with me, and I hope that is very soon.

What is the weather like up there now?  If it is like you said I will freeze stiff if I go out side when I get there, so have the chair ready in front of the fire place and a big fire going, for you don’t want me to freeze, do you Darling.

I am glad to hear that you have caught up on your work, so you can take off from the office when I am there.  I sure would like to see you if you are dressed like you said or any other way.  Do you think you will be able to stand up in the snow when I am there, or will you slide and knock my feet from under me like you almost did a few times?

Mary Darling, can you get one of your pictures in natural color for me?  I want it to look just like you were when I saw you last, but you are lovely all the time so it won’t help much.  Listen Darling, it don’t matter what they look like, I want one ht them.

Mary dearest, you will have to excuse this short letter but I will have to close now.  Tell Mom and Jimmie I am sending them all the love that I can after loving you, my dearest darling sweet wife.

All my love now and forever
Your Loving Husband for always.
Harry.
