I can’t determine if the Bob Dylan film collage I’m Not There is coming to my home town of Birmingham, Alabama any time in the near future, so I suppose the Dewey Cox movie will have to do for now. Did I say how rabidly anxious I am to see I’m Not There? I am. Anxious. And rabidly so. I have heard that it is booked and will be playing soon at the Capri Theatre in Montgomery but, hey, we’re the biggest city in the state…can’t we get this movie here first (or at least at the same time)? Sheesh.
Yep. Reefer Madness meets every self-destructive rock & roll cliche that you’ve ever seen (the bad-influence fellow band member, the seductive backstage indoctrination by a “groupie” – this movie apparently piles ’em on with abandon)! I was tipped off to this by a friend in the blogosphere.
Did I say how eagerly I am looking forward to seeing I’m Not There? The soundtrack is pretty rad, too.

Can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait. “Somebody is out there beating on a dead horse.” And I think that somebody is me.
