[HBO]Six Sondheim songs are singled out to represent the breadth of his career, and they are each recreated in collaborations by contemporary singers and filmmakers. But none of them hold a candle to the extended clip of Dean Jones completely inhabiting “Being Alive,” from the D.A. Pennebaker documentary of the recording sessions for “Company.” Now I need to watch the Pennebaker doc again.
