I stayed here a couple of years ago. Got a great price as it was being renovated. They do a fantastic big band brunch on Sundays.

The lobby was so plush back in the ’80s, as I assume it still is. I remember walking through the lobby as a cut-through (instead of walking up to the corner), just to, well, just to walk through the plush lobby. Very ‘old school’ and ‘proper Bostonian.’
