June 27th, 2010 · 3 Comments

Today’s playlist is a quick journey through the New Wave sounds as I heard them back on the cusp between the ’70s and ’80s. That is all. Now, please excuse me while I go find my skinny, shiny, turquoise vinyl tie.

I had really wanted to include something from one of the albums by The Cretones, but came up dry in my search.  If you happen to know of a source for their music, most especially the 1980 album Thin Red Line, please fill me in.  Thanks!  […and K. Cortez comes through in a split-second pinch.  Thanks, man.]

Was listening to an interview with James Murphy (I think that’s his name), the frontman for LCD Soundsystem on Fresh Air this morning. LCD Soundsystem is really just a New Order Substance-era ripoff, right?

I love the playlist today, Fred. Really fun, not what I was expecting on a Sunday Morning. 🙂

    B. – Yeah, I hear those New Order references in LCD some of the time.

    J. – It wasn’t what I was expecting, either. Thanks for enjoying it. Unrelated, I jumped over to your MySpace page and saw those Josh-at-LE videos. Hadn’t seen them before…very nice, made me feel all sentimental.
