Just spoke with Jennifer and there is an opening at First Light Shelter. Now the task is convincing Kathy that she should go there at least through tonight as it is getting down to 29 degrees.
I’m about to bundle up and go down to talk to her.
Going to a shelter for the weekend is only a quick fix to a long term problem. Hopefully, if she does go, she can connect to a social worker there.
I’m still interested to know how and why this happened and what kind of support can be garnered in our community since it happened in our community.
Will keep you posted.

Kim needs to talk to Michelle @ MBSH. I’m pretty sure that’s where Jennifer that she talked to is (I am assuming that’s the Jennifer anyway). B/w the folks that work there and their resources hopefully Kathy can get everything she needs and Kim can get her answers. Unfortunately Kathy is not the only one in our city in that exact situation – and unfortunately there are not enough resources to help, but that’s something that’s being worked on every day.
