Dearest Mary:

Well Darling here it is Christmas and I am going to write just a few more lines to let you know that I am well.  I hope Darling that you had a wonderful time to-day.  I set around a while today and I saw a movie.  It was the Song of Bernadette.  It was at Kings a while back.  I sure missed you a lot today and I suppose you missed me a lot.  I am sorry that I could not be there like I said I would.  Dearest I am sure sorry about having disappointed you.  We was only allowed to go 20 miles from the 23rd till the 26th so dearest you see how it was.  Some of the fellows was lucky and got a ride in a plane.  Hank and I changed our passes to the 27th when we heard about the restriction so forgive me Dearest for not being there with you Dearest.

What did Jimmie do today when he saw his train?  I bet you and Mom had more fun with it than he did?  Now tell me the truth didn’t you Dearest Dopey Darling.

We have an Aero Club here at the base now but I haven’t been [in] it yet, so I don’t know what it is like.  I will let you know what it is like if I go in it.

My Dearest if there are any good shows that you want to see have it hunted up when I get there.  I can’t promise you we will go or not but just in case I do.

Well Darling we were all having a wrestling match here in the barracks and it is quieted down some now.  I think I will go to the club a while now for every body is yelling at me to go and I can hardly write so.

Well Darling I just got back to the barracks.  We went and had a few sandwiches and some cakes.  Every thing was free tonight so you know the rest, but darling I missed you so much.  I would like to be there with you dearest for no matter what I do I am still lonely, and nothing seems to go right with out you being close to me.  Darling I am going to do all I can in my power to have you here with me.  My own dearest wife.  Please dearest try to get along up there just a while longer.  I should go and look for a place for you to stay dearest, when I get my pass but I miss you so much I just have to come and see you my own darling little wife.  I will have to close now sweet.  Answer soon.

Your own lonely Loving husband
all my love now and forever
Harry.
